Abstract
⺠We use image quantification of single endosomes to define the role of Cavl in EGF endocytosis. ⺠Cav1 marks mature EGF endosomes, based on morphological and spatial characteristics. ⺠Knockdown of Cav1 does not affect EGF-induced EGFR internalization. ⺠Knockdown of Cav1 perturbs EGF-endosome trafficking in the late phase of trafficking. ⺠We propose a model in which Cav1-vesicles fuse with EGF endosomes after their internalization.
