Abstract
⺠Genome is constantly exposed to various endogenous and exogenous agents that cause DNA double strand breaks (DSBs). ⺠DSBs, if left unrepaired, cause genome instability and cancer. ⺠The ubiquitin-proteasome system is virtually involved in any cellular process. ⺠By summarizing the current literature we observed that the UPS is an integral part of DSB repair. ⺠Based on this, we propose new perspectives for anti-cancer therapy.
