Abstract
⺠The PacC/Pal transduction pathway mediates metabolic responses to pH sensing. ⺠The pacC gene is modulated by nutrient changes, phosphate and carbon sources, and pH. ⺠Alternative splicing of palB is predominant in MM, affecting transcription of pacC. ⺠The transcription of pacC is downregulated in a palB7 background. ⺠Transcription of pacC gene is greatly reduced in high-Pi MM cultures at pH 5.0.
