Abstract
This article presents a literature review of the different laparoscopic techniques currently used for hernioplasty and herniorrhaphy of the inguinal rings in equidae, including complications and outcomes. Other aim of this review was to highlight the lack of more comprehensive and systematically collected data regarding reproductive outcomes in the descriptions of these techniques and to compare findings in equidae with those in other species subjected to similar techniques. Those studies reported possible detrimental effects to the reproductive system.
