Abstract
ⶠIncreased carbon input enhanced microbial activity and N transformation processes. ⶠManuring and catch crop incorporation prior to sowing increased grain yields in organic systems were similar to those achieved in the system where inorganic fertilizer was applied. ⶠOrganic systems had higher cumulative heterotrophic CO2 respiration than inorganic fertilizer-based systems.
