Abstract
▶ DIFN transmitted in the gap between trees is inversely related to canopy closure. ▶ Standard digital cameras can accurately predict DIFN transmitted in the gap between trees. ▶ Stand leaf area cannot be accurately represented by one simple stand parameter alone. ▶ Understorey pasture production is strongly and linearly related to DIFN transmission.
