Abstract
⺠Both sexes are predicted to have elaborate traits in cooperatively breeding species. ⺠Song form and function was examined in cooperatively breeding superb starlings. ⺠Both sexes sang equally complex songs. ⺠The song of dominant breeders differed from that of subordinate helpers. ⺠Song structure also differed in different social contexts.
