Abstract
⺠We discuss potential effects of sensory capabilities on mate choice and the evolution of signals. ⺠We focus explicitly on individual variation in sensory capabilities. ⺠We outline predictions of preference functions and choosiness in a redundant multimodal signalling context. ⺠We explore effects of variation in sensory capabilities on sensory drive, honest signalling and assortative mating.
