Abstract
► Subsocial burrower bug, Adomerus rotundus, mothers vibrate a mature egg mass. ► The maternal vibration had a peak coinciding with the synchronous hatching. ► Broods isolated from the mother hatched asynchronously. ► Synchronous hatching was induced by artificial vibration. ► Mothers of A. rotundus actively promote synchronous hatching by physical vibration.
