Abstract
► We tested developmental use of social learning in a wild, mixed-longitudinal sample of ringtailed lemurs. ► Young lemurs used basic social learning and individual exploration to learn diet. ► Infants and juveniles fed when they observed an older nearest neighbour feeding. ► Juveniles had the highest dietary diversity of all age classes. ► Lemurs relied on basic and common social learning rules to learn diet.
