Abstract
⺠We tested developmental use of social learning in a wild, mixed-longitudinal sample of ringtailed lemurs. ⺠Young lemurs used basic social learning and individual exploration to learn diet. ⺠Infants and juveniles fed when they observed an older nearest neighbour feeding. ⺠Juveniles had the highest dietary diversity of all age classes. ⺠Lemurs relied on basic and common social learning rules to learn diet.
