Abstract
⺠We examined kin recognition mechanisms in juvenile Pelvicachromis taeniatus. ⺠Kin recognition templates were manipulated by rearing conditions. ⺠Olfactory stimuli were presented in a Y-maze. ⺠Kin recognition is based on familial imprinting and not self-reference.
