Abstract
⺠We estimated genetic control and genetic correlations of escape response traits in Argopecten purpuratus scallop. ⺠Results shows that escape responses of A. purpuratus have substantial additive genetic variation. ⺠Thus, the analysed escape response traits can evolve through natural selection. ⺠Genetic correlations among escape response traits were also high. ⺠Thus, selection on one escape trait will affect that of another, facilitating their coevolution.
