Abstract
⺠Reduced territoriality in the winter is often assigned to the absence of breeding. ⺠Pied babblers reduce territorial behaviour in the nonbreeding season. ⺠We test whether this was due to reduced food availability in nonbreeding periods. ⺠Reduction in territorial behaviour can be attributed to reductions in food availability.
