Abstract
► We simulated aggressive encounters between groups of white-faced capuchins. ► Extra group calls were played back to male subjects in varying audience conditions. ► Males responded more aggressively when tested in sight of another male. ► Males were more aggressive when tested in view of an aggressive group member.
