Abstract
⺠We test whether great tits copy or reject behaviour of good or poor conspecifics. ⺠The portrayed fitness did not affect the nest-site choices of tits. ⺠Tit pairs with an old male preferred nest-site choices of good and poor conspecifics. ⺠Social information use among tits appears to be age- and sex-dependent.
