Abstract
⺠We found sex differences in giraffe sociality. ⺠Female giraffes showed nonrandom association patterns. ⺠Female giraffes showed preferred and avoided relationships with other females. ⺠Spatial overlap or kinship did not entirely explain female-female relationships. ⺠Female individual preferences may contribute to variation in female sociality.
