Abstract
⺠Social, spatial and habitat components of red deer sexual segregation were studied. ⺠Sexual segregation cannot just be a by-product of habitat. ⺠Red deer segregation was a matter not only of sex but also of age. ⺠Both social behaviour and habitat preferences contribute to sexual segregation.
