Abstract
⺠This study examined proximity networks in the ant Odontomachus hastatus. ⺠Ants showed individual variation in connectivity. ⺠Ants form preferential and long lasting associations with nestmates. ⺠The queen does not shape network structure. ⺠Space use constrains social proximity.
