Abstract
⺠Social relations between territorial neighbours may be affected by third parties. ⺠We show that aggressive third parties evoke moderate responses by close eavesdroppers. ⺠Males also use information from neighbour-stranger interactions in future situations. ⺠In conclusion males condition their vocal behaviour on their neighbour's situation.
