Abstract
⺠Closely related species of carpenter bees reduced competition for nest sites through spatial partitioning. ⺠Both species (Ceratina mikmaqi, C. calcarata) experimentally preferred the same nesting substrate and site. ⺠Microclimate influenced offspring fitness while nest substrate did not.
