Abstract
⺠Evidence for a genetic basis for age at first dispersal in wild species is lacking. ⺠We tested for genetic variation in age at first dispersal in red wolves and coyote hybrids. ⺠We found evidence for genetic variation in male, but not female, red wolves. ⺠Hybrids dispersed at ages intermediate to red wolves and coyotes.
