Abstract
⺠We investigated drivers behind edge-refuging behaviour displayed by hedgehogs. ⺠This behaviour may be due to fear of predators or food availability. ⺠We tracked animals in areas with and without predators and studied food abundance. ⺠Predator-infested rural areas may be 'landscapes of fear' for hedgehogs. ⺠Hedgehogs may benefit from increased habitat complexity in predator infested areas.
