Abstract
⺠We investigate how relatedness affects mate choice in D. melanogaster. ⺠Linear and nonlinear effects on mate choice are examined. ⺠Increasing relatedness is associated with reduced time to copulation. ⺠Our results are discussed in the context of optimal inbreeding theory.
