Abstract
⺠We studied territorial defence in the Zenaida dove, a monogamous tropical bird. ⺠Males were more likely to react to intruders than females. ⺠However, only female reactivity to intruders varied with intrusion pressure. ⺠Sex of the intruder had no effect on the reactivity of males and females.
