Abstract
⺠Copulatory song in Drosophila is rare and poorly understood. ⺠Here we show that copulatory song in three species extends copulation duration. ⺠Song of an appropriate frequency is effective, male identity does not matter. ⺠The genetic control of song differences between species is unusual.
