Abstract
⺠We examined call variation in the inquiry and response calls of Spix's disc-winged bat. ⺠These social calls allow bats to locate conspecifics and form roosting groups. ⺠Both social calls showed consistent individual signatures, and to a lesser extent, group signatures. ⺠Results demonstrate how animals use acoustic communication to mediate group cohesion.
