Abstract
► We examined call variation in the inquiry and response calls of Spix's disc-winged bat. ► These social calls allow bats to locate conspecifics and form roosting groups. ► Both social calls showed consistent individual signatures, and to a lesser extent, group signatures. ► Results demonstrate how animals use acoustic communication to mediate group cohesion.
