Abstract
▶ Abbreviated training in Barnes maze induces complete spatial memory acquisition. ▶ Acquired spatial memory is retained for at least 24 h. ▶ One-session extinction training reverts the acquired spatial preference. ▶ Extinction rate is slower for spatial preference than for exploratory behavior. ▶ A useful tool to explore spatial memory extinction has been developed.
