Abstract
▶ Fear-evoking pictures were judged to be longer in duration than neutral pictures. ▶ There was no difference in magnitude of the effect of fear across duration ranges. ▶ Results were interpreted in terms of scalar expectancy theory. ▶ The findings were consistent with a switch-mediated effect.
