Abstract
A novel luminescent metal-organic framework, [Cd2L(DMF)2(H2O)2]n (1), based on a chiral binaphthol derivative 2,2â²-diethoxy-1,1â²binaphthyl-4,4â²,6,6â²-tetracarboxylic acid (H4L) has been synthesized. This compound is a 4-connected node 3D network topology with the point symbol {6^6} and SQC topology type. Photoluminescence (PL) studies indicated that the fluorescence emission peak of complex 1 shows a blue-shift first and then a red-shift with the increase of solvent polarity. Significantly, complex 1 has a good response to the nitro-compounds and its quenching efficiency increases significantly with increasing number of gen-containing groups on explosives.308
