Abstract

•Two new 3D microporous metal–organic frameworks were synthesized under solvothermal condition.•The two compounds have shown stabilities to the water and the common organic solvents.•The two compounds display high adsorption of CO2 without any functional sites.

Two new 3D metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), [NH2(CH3)2][KZn(DMTDC)2] (1) and [NH2(CH3)2][NaZn(DMTDC)2] (2), have been solvothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. Both 1 and 2 exhibit 3D structures with 1D infinite helical K–O–Zn and Na–O–Zn metallic chains. Meanwhile, stability studies indicate that 1 was robust even after immersed in various solvents and heated in the air. Furthermore, the N2 and CO2 adsorption isotherms of 1 and 2 were also measured.
