A silver(I)–olefin complex based on achiral exo-7-oxabicyclo-[2.2.1]-5-heptene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid (H2L) shows a 3-connected layer with {4.82}-fes topology, in which unsymmetrical coordinated HL possesses chiral centers. The complex exhibits electrocatalytic activity for generating hydrogen from water.
