Abstract
A novel complex [Er(C6NO2H5)3(H2O)2]n(1.5nZnCl4) · (2nH2O) was synthesized via hydrothermal reaction. The crystal structure is characteristic of a novel one-dimensional polycationic chain-like structure. Optical absorption spectrum shows that the title complex may be a candidate for potential photoelectric material. The title complex shows interesting emission bands in green and red regions, which are attributed to the characteristic emissions of 4F7/2, 2H11/2, 4S3/2, 4F9/2â4I15/2 of Er3+ ions.
