Abstract

Two novel coordination polymers [Cd(BTC)1/2(H2O)3]·H2O (1) and [SmCu2K(BTC)2(H2O)4]·2H2O (2) (H4BTC = 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid) have been synthesized at room temperature. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis has revealed that 1 forms a two-dimensional network, while 2 forms a heterometallic three-dimensional framework. Furthermore, the luminescence properties of 2 have been studied.
