Abstract

A hetero-metallic cluster {Cp∗Ir[S2C2(B10H10)]}2Mo(CO)2 (2) has been synthesized and structurally characterized, and their third-order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties have been investigated by Z-scan technique. The results indicate that 2 exhibit good NLO absorption and self-focusing effects. The hyperpolarizability γ value is calculated to be 2.60 × 10−29 esu for 2.
