A linked macrocyclic ligand L1 was synthesized and its d10 metal complexes (3 and 4) were prepared and structurally characterized. Reaction of L1 with AgClO4 afforded a discrete endo-coordinated disilver(I) complex 3, [Ag2(L1)](ClO4)2. Whereas, from the reaction of L1 with CuI one-dimensional coordination polymer 4, [Cu4(L1)I4]n connected by twisted-ribbon type Cu4I4 motif was obtained. The NMR study suggests that the solid structures are also retained in solution.
