Nanodimensional pores of zeolite-Y containing; 1,9-dialkyl-1,3,7,9,11,15-hexaazacyclohexadecane, [Cu(R2[16]aneN6)]2+ (R = Me, Et, Bu and Benzyl); have been prepared by the in situ one-pot template synthesis of formaldehyde and 1,3-propylenediamine (1,3-pn) with alkyl and benzyl amine within the nanodimensional pores of zeolite-Y. The host–guest nanocomposite materials catalyze the oxidation of tetrahydrofuran with hydrogen peroxide.
