Classical tetradentate chelation and novel bis(bidentate) congregation motifs of a neutral N-donor Schiff base in dinuclear cadmium(II) complexes: Synthesis, structure and luminescence behaviour

Syntheses, structures and luminescence properties of three dinuclear compounds [Cd2(bpbd)3](ClO4/PF6)4 (1/2) and [Cd(bpbd)(Cl)]2(PF6)2 (3) are described in which novel bis(bidentate) congregation behaviour of tetradentate Schiff base, bpbd, is revealed along with classical tetradentate chelation motif.
