Heterometallic coordination polymers of the form {[SmMn2(imdc)2(OAc)(H2O)]·2H2O}n (1) (H3imdc = 4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid, HOAc = acetic acid) were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The results reveal that 1 has a three-dimensional framework containing Sm2Mn4 clusters. The luminescence and magnetic properties of 1 were also investigated.
