Abstract
A new two-dimensional HgII coordination polymer containing 5-bis(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (bpo) and azide anions, [Hg(μ-bpo)2(N3)2]n, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR-, 1H NMR-, 13C NMR spectroscopy and studied by thermal, fluorescence and X-ray crystallography. The single-crystal X-ray data shows that bpo ligand is bridged via one pyridyl nitrogen and one oxadiazole nitrogen atom, as a novel coordination mode of the bpo ligand.
