Two monomeric Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes [M(trtr)2(H2O)4](SiF6) (M = Cd for 1; Zn for 2) were obtained from the reactions of bitriazole ligand 4-[3-(1,2,4-triazolyl)-1,2,4-triazole] with metal fluorosilicate. 3-D supramolecular frameworks are constructed by the hydrogen bondings between the monomeric assemblies and SiF62-. The fluorescence of 1 and 2 feature the emission peaks at 454 and 348 nm, respectively, originating from the π–π∗ intraligand transition and LMCT, which are related to the triazole rings the metal centers coordinate with.
