Abstract

•A new electroactive tetrathiafulvalene-based bispyrazole ligand (L) is synthesized.•A rhenium tricarbonyl complex based on L has been structurally characterized.•The absorption spectral changes of L upon addition of NOPF6 have been studied.

The new tetrathiafulvalene-functionalized bispyrazole ligand (L) and the corresponding tricarbonyl rhenium(I) complex (4) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Their absorption spectra and redox behaviors have been recorded, and the absorption spectral changes of L upon addition of NOPF6 have also been studied in detail.

Graphical abstractThe tricarbonyl (chloro) rhenium(I) complex with the new electroactive tetrathiafulvalene-based bispyrazole ligand with the amide bridge, N-(2,2-di(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)ethyl)-4′,5′-bis(methylthio)-[2,2′-bi(1,3-dithiolylidene)]-4-carboxamide (L), have been prepared and structurally characterized. The absorption and electrochemical properties of these new compounds have been studied.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
