A new cobalt coordination polymer based on N-(Phosphonomethyl)imino-diacetic acid (H4PMIDA) and 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate acid (H3BTC) ligands, [Co15(PMIDA)6(BTC)2(H2O)12]·6H2O, has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of the complex features a cubic 3D open framework constructed by [Co15(PMIDA)6(H2O)12] cluster and BTC ligand. The magnetic properties of this compound were also investigated.
