Abstract
A novel water aggregate, comprised of alternate octameric water cubes and (H2O)20-cluster units, encapsulated within 3d–4f metal–organic networks [{Ln2M3(3,5-pdc)6(H2O)22} · 20.5H2O]n (Ln = Sm, Eu, Gd; M = Co, Ni) is presented.
