Abstract
A novel Zn(Π) xanthone–crown ether complex (2) was synthesized and demonstrated to selectively detect HSO4- over other anions by fluorescence and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy. In contrast, xanthone–crown ether (1) did not show detectable affinity for all the anions examined.
A novel zinc(Π) xanthone–crown ether complex was synthesized and studied as anion–receptor. The results show the Zn (Π) xanthone–crown ether complex is a sensitive and selective fluorescent chemosensor for HSO4-.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
