Abstract

The monoribbed-functionalized clathrochelate with two functionalizing imidazolyl substituents was synthesized by interaction of dichloroglyoximato-bis-α-benzyldioximate FeBd2(Cl2Gm)(BF)2 precursor with organomagnesium imidazole derivative. The N6-coordination polyhedron of the diimidazolyl iron(II) clathrochelate molecule has a distorted trigonal prismatic geometry with the distortion angle φ = 24.1° and the FeN distances approximately 1.91 Å.
