Abstract
A new porous zinc phosphonate, Zn6[(O3PCH2)2NHC6H11]4 · 6H2O with a 3D open-framework has been synthesized under hydrothermal reaction conditions. The structure of compound 1 features a 3D open-framework built from ZnO4 tetrahedra linked together by bridging phosphonate groups. Each zinc cation is tetrahedrally coordinated by four phosphonate oxygen atoms from four ligands, each of which connects with six zinc atoms, resulting in channel systems of different size.
