Abstract
A supramolecular light absorber, [{[(bpy)2Os(dpp)]2Ru}2(dpq)](PF6)12, has been prepared. This efficient light absorber has a high molecular weight 5173 g/mol with large ε of 8.3 Ã 105 Mâ1 cmâ1 at 560 nm. It possesses a lowest unoccupied molecular orbital localized on the central μ-dpq and a highest occupied molecular orbital localized on the terminal Os, providing significant spatial separation of donor and acceptor orbitals.
