The self-assembly reaction of 4-hydroxy-2-mercapto-6-methylpyrimidine, KOH and di-n-butyltin dichloride in CH3OH and H2O (V/V=1:1) under solvothermal conditions (150 °C) affords a novel one-dimensional infinite polymeric chain complex 1, which involves high centrosymmetric units containing centrosymmetric hydrolysis ladders and unhydrolyzed Bu2Sn(IV) moieties.
