A 3D Ni(II)-MOF with frl topology based on 2-(1-imidazole)-1-hydroxyl-1,1′-ethylidenediphosphonic acid and N,N′-donor co-ligand: Synthesis, structure and magnetic property

•A unique 3D Ni(II) MOF constructed from polymeric chains•A (4,4)-connected frl-(42·64)4(64·82) network•The magnetic transition from ferrimagnetism to fully polarized state

A new 3D Ni(II)-MOF {[Ni3(ImhedpH)2(4,4′-bipy)]·4,4′-bipy·4H2O}n (1), based on 2-(1-imidazole)-1-hydroxyl-1,1′-ethylidenediphosphonate and 4,4′-bipyridyl, is presented, which possesses a (4,4)-connected frl-(42·64)4(64·82) network and shows ferrimagnetism and field-induced magnetic transition from ferrimagnetism to fully polarized state.
