A novel anilido-iminato cobalt complex [(L)Co(μ-Cl)2Li(THF)2] (1) (H(L) = o-(2′,6′-iPr2(C6H3)–NH)(C6H4)CHN–(C6H3)Pr2i-2,6) was synthesized by the reaction of the lithium salt of H(L) with CoCl2 in THF in 57% yield, structurally characterized by NMR and X-ray single crystal diffraction, and its application as a catalyst for the addition polymerization of norbornene in the presence of methylaluminoxane (MAO) was reported.
